| KZ-105 Funada Ikin Shibuichi kozuka by Funada Ikkin of Water irises in katakiri bori. There were two generations of Ikkin both studying with Ichijo. This work is probably of the first generation. Ikkin worked in the Goto Ichijo tradition and was a retainer of the Sakai Damiyo. Ikkin is a Joko rated smith in the kinko meikan. In this elegant and simple piece, one can see the skill with which Ikkin worked in. We especially like creativity and imagination used to form the leaves of the plant that give it a feeling of movement. The signature in the back is particularly strong and reflects that of an artist who in our opinion was one of Ichijo’s best students and displayed an imagination and creativity on his own. Hakogaki by Sato Kanzan sensei. Slight scratch from what appears to be a tsuba post in the back. NBTHK Hozon certified 1800’s Signed Ikkin –Likely work of 1st generation - NBTHK Hozon certified 9.69 cm long 1.39 cm wide $1200
