MF-256 Goto Kozuka

Design of Phoenix and Kiri Tree

Goto School kozuka, most likely from the Momyama period or older. Fine shakudo nanako with a phoenix and paulownia tree as the design. The depiction of the Ho'o bird and Kiri is a famous myth relating to divinity and the emperor. Well depicted here, this is a nice kozuka at a very fair price. We just obtained a small kozuka collection and are offering some pieces at a special price. The deep, dark black shakudo shows the age and quality level of the piece.
